Why are the Bears wearing a "VMH" patch on their jerseys?

On Monday night, the Chicago Bears faced the Minnesota Vikings. The main focus of the game was the first head-to-head matchup between two rookie quarterbacks: Bears' top draft pick Caleb Williams and Vikings' first-round pick JJ McCarthy. But fans watching the game might have been puzzled by the Chicago Bears jerseys.

According to the Bears, they will wear a football-shaped "VMH" patch on the left shoulder of their nfl jersey throughout the 2025 NFL season in honor of the late owner, Virginia Halas McCaskey. The badge is in the shape of a rugby ball, with an orange background and the initials VMH printed in navy blue. The "M" is outlined in white.

Unfortunately, the Bears were eventually reversed by the Vikings and ended the game 24-27. The performance of the two rookies also failed to meet expectations. However, there is no need to worry too much about Williams' performance. He needs time to adapt to Johnson's complex offensive system.
