Colts players celebrate Gardner's arrival
On Tuesday, the Indianapolis Colts acquired Sauce Gardner from the New York Jets. The two-time All-Star First Team cornerback will wear nfl jersey number 1 for the Colts.
The 25-year-old Gardner was the NFL's highest-paid cornerback just four months ago, only to be waived by the Jets in the blink of an eye. However, this talented player will be a cornerstone of the Colts' defense, filling the void left by Charvarius Ward. In the exchange, the Jets will receive first-round draft picks in 2026 and 2027, as well as wide receiver AD Mitchell.
Meanwhile, wide receiver Josh Downs will change his Indianapolis Colts jerseys number from 1 to 2 starting this weekend in Berlin against the Atlanta Falcons. The Colts players are currently celebrating Gardner's arrival and aiming for another NFL-best record.
